Motor City Community Announces Recipients of Annual Scholarship
Motor City Community, a local Windsor-Essex Credit Union, is proud to announce the recipients of annual Ron Bate and Frank Moceri Scholarships. Through these scholarships, Motor City Community is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders by providing financial assistance to outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership qualities, and a commitment to community service. This year, six exceptional and community-orientated students have been awarded scholarships to support their academic pursuits.
In memory of Ron Bate, a dedicated Director and Corporate Secretary of the Windsor City Centre Credit Union for 22 years, the Ron Bate scholarship is awarded to five students who show commitment to the local community of Windsor-Essex.
Established in 2021 in partnership with the Moceri family to honour the memory of Director Frank Moceri, the Frank Moceri scholarship is presented to a student who has been accepted or attending a St. Clair College program and exemplifies volunteerism through community involvement.
"We are thrilled to support these remarkable, community-orientated students on their educational journeys," said Robert Griffith. "Their dedication to their studies and their communities is truly inspiring."
The recipients of the Ron Bate Scholarship are:
- Colin Pyne – University of Windsor, Business Administration
- Angelina Caviedes – University of Windsor, Kinesiology & Business
- Sophia Campana – University of Windsor, Biomedical Science
- Jax Ackland – Redeemer University, Theology
- Sydney Wilson – McMaster University, Mechanical Engineering
The recipient of the Frank Moceri Scholarship is:
- Adrienne McConnell – St. Clair College, Journalism
